Highway Department Updates - October 26th

Administration:

  • This week reviewed driveway permits.
  • Reviewed culvert crossings.
  • Continuous work with the FEMA December 2022 storm damage.
  • Several meetings, with FEMA, CIP and the Main Street Drainage Project.
  • Completing Winter Services bids and for upcoming winter services.
  • Collecting asphalt pricing for road projects.

Crew Duties:

  • Attached plow frames to all trucks with sanders
  • Graded Bell Road
  • Finished up hot topping of Town roads. Over the summer we applied 140 tons of hot top.
  • Loaded a catch basin for the North Main Street project.

Maintenance:

  • Clean shop from the previous week’s repairs
  • Picked up garage door to be installed
  • Purchased head gear for plows on the trucks
  • Tested sanders
  • Began restoring 2010 International (painting frame/headgear, clean up body, repair bed, replaced sander chain, etc)

 

Building:

Installation of new garage door.

Training:

Ongoing: Still in progress with UNH T2 Program: The department had employees that were not enrolled in T2 UNH, enroll with the program. This will allow the staff to attend classes, training and get certified in areas that need certification.  

Paving Projects:

Upcoming Events:

Leaf cleanup on roadsides will begin next week.

Once Grader is repaired, road grading will resume.

Please be mindful of having basketball hoops off the Town roads by November 1, 2023.
